Multi-UOM Support

Professional plan and up

Multi-UOM lets one item be received in pallets, stored and picked in eaches, and shipped in cases. Each unit has a fixed conversion to the item's base unit. Stock is always held in the base unit, and every movement records both the unit handled and the base quantity.

How multiple units of measure work in Waresify

For each item you define its valid units and a conversion factor to the base unit. For example, a case is 24 eaches and a pallet is 40 cases, or 960 eaches.

You also mark the default unit for purchasing, selling and stock display, and can map your ERP's unit codes to Waresify units per connector.

What the worker scans

Each unit can carry its own barcode. Scanning a case barcode counts as one case, and scanning a pallet barcode counts as one pallet. Waresify converts to the base unit before it updates stock.

How the stock ledger stays consistent

Stock balances are stored in the base unit only. A movement keeps the quantity the worker handled, such as 5 pallets, and the base quantity, such as 4,800 eaches. Summing the base quantities for a location always equals its balance.

Questions

What is a base unit of measure?

The base unit is the smallest unit the warehouse tracks an item in, often the each. Every other unit converts to it with a fixed factor.

What is the difference between multi-UOM and catch weight?

Multi-UOM uses fixed ratios, so a case is always 24 eaches. Catch weight, which Waresify calls variable measure, records a measurement that differs per unit, such as a cheese wheel weighing 4.87 kg.

Which plan includes multi-UOM?

Multi-UOM is in the Professional tier, so the Professional and Enterprise plans include it. Pricing is announced before launch.
