Returns Inbound

Core plan and up

Returns inbound handles goods coming back from customers. A return order works like a purchase order in reverse: workers receive against it, grade the condition of each line, and a supervisor confirms whether each item is restocked, inspected, quarantined, written off or returned to the supplier.

How returns work in Waresify

A return order comes from your ERP as an RMA, or a supervisor creates one by hand and links it to the original sales order when known. Workers receive against it the same way they receive a purchase order.

Items that arrive but are not on the return order put the order on hold until a supervisor acts.

How condition grading works

You set your own grade scale. Each grade carries a default disposition, which the worker sees when grading and the supervisor can change before confirming. The default scale:

  • A, as new: restock
  • B, minor or cosmetic damage: restock
  • C, functional with significant damage: QC inspection
  • D, non-functional: write off

What each disposition does

Restock creates available stock and a putaway task. Quarantine moves the item to a quarantine zone without creating stock. Write-off and return to supplier log a negative adjustment and notify the ERP. Rework routes the item to a rework area and it comes back as a new license plate.

Questions

What is a returns disposition?

A disposition is the decision about what happens to a returned item: put it back into stock, inspect it, quarantine it, write it off, send it back to the supplier or rework it.

Which plan includes returns management?

Returns inbound is in the Core tier, so every plan includes it. Pricing is announced before launch.
