Hazmat Compliance

Enterprise plan and up

Hazmat compliance attaches UN hazard classes to items and enforce your segregation rules at putaway, picking and shipping. Workers see PPE alerts before handling hazardous goods. Restrictions block by default, and an authorised supervisor can override one with a logged reason.

How hazmat compliance works in Waresify

Each hazardous item gets a record with its UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, required PPE, and optional limits per location and per pick task. Hazard classes 1 to 9 follow the UN Model Regulations structure.

You configure the rules that apply to your operation. Waresify does not ship regulatory text, because it changes by jurisdiction.

Where the rules are checked

  • Putaway: incompatible classes are kept out of the same location or the same zone, and the per-location quantity limit applies.
  • Picking: the per-task quantity limit applies, and batch picks do not combine incompatible classes in one tote.
  • Shipping: shipments with hazmat items are flagged as dangerous goods.

What the worker sees

Before the first scan on a hazmat receipt or pick, the device shows the required PPE and the worker acknowledges it.

Questions

What is hazmat segregation?

Hazmat segregation keeps dangerous goods of incompatible classes apart in storage, for example oxidizers away from flammable liquids.

Can a supervisor override a hazmat block?

Yes. Every restriction blocks by default, and an authorised supervisor can override it. The reason is logged.

Which plan includes hazmat compliance?

Hazmat compliance is in the Enterprise tier, so the Enterprise plan includes it. Pricing is announced before launch.
