Yard Management

Professional plan and up

In Waresify, yard management covers dock doors, appointment slots, carrier self-booking and trailer tracking. Supervisors register arrivals at the gate, park trailers in yard positions and assign doors, and every trailer is tracked from gate to yard to door to departure.

How yard management works in Waresify

Each dock door is typed as inbound, outbound or flexible, and has a status: available, scheduled, occupied, blocked or under maintenance. Yard positions are numbered parking spots where trailers wait for a door.

Appointments book time slots for inbound or outbound loads and can link to a purchase order or shipment.

Who runs the gate

Supervisors handle gate operations from the browser or a gatehouse terminal. They register arrivals, including walk-in trucks with no appointment, assign yard positions and check trucks in. There is no separate gate role in the first version.

Waresify suggests a dock door, and the supervisor can always override, reassign or bypass the suggestion. Overrides are logged.

How carriers book appointments

Carriers book their own slots through a carrier portal. A preferred door is honoured when possible.

Questions

What is yard management?

Yard management is tracking the trucks and trailers outside the building: when they arrive, where they wait, which dock door they use and when they leave.

Do I need a gate security role to use it?

No. In Waresify supervisors run the gate, which fits smaller sites where one team owns the physical flow.

Which plan includes yard management?

Yard management is in the Professional tier, so the Professional and Enterprise plans include it. Pricing is announced before launch.
